A course for beginner-level Japanese students

About the course
Innovative picture materials provide rigorous language workouts that will get you speaking and responding from the very first lesson!
Here’s what you’ll do in each lesson:
- First, you’ll look at the pictures and listen to the target language. Pictures will help you learn new language quickly and remember it easily.
- Then, you’ll produce the target sentences and manipulate them into questions, responses, and conversations. You’ll master vocabulary and grammar, improve your accuracy, and increase your confidence!
- As you gain skill, you’ll listen for key details and distinguish between similar sounds, words, patterns, and meanings.

Goal: Review and strengthen your basic English, and improve your daily conversation skills.
Level: Students who have taken a beginner course, who have some confidence in English but are not yet at the intermediate level. TOEIC 250-379.

Course Overview: You will practice listening and speaking skills. You will get used to common vocabulary, and learn commonly used phrases. You will improve your ability to understand spoken English by getting used to the rhythm and speed of native English. You’ll learn sentence patterns and work on improving your pronunciation. Interesting activities will help you enjoy communicating in English.
Content: Food and drink, likes and dislikes, comparisons, describing location, listening to instructions, describing work, shopping, talking about plans, giving opinions.
Born in the U.S.A., this instructor has worked in international business in Japan for 35 years and has taught English as a Foreign Language for 25 years. He is also a tai chi instructor, an avid traveler, and an enthusiastic swimmer.
